Our Roots Run Deep

Beneath the branches of a four-hundred-year-old holm oak, in the historic grounds of Cathedral Close, something new is growing.

Eden Day Nursery, is planned to open in Spring 2027, in the heart of Exeter. Beneath the canopy of our old tree sits an outdoor space unlike anything else in the city. We're bringing this beautiful building back to life for local children. We’re transforming our outdoor space into a place for children to play and explore, right in the heart of the city, and we can’t wait to welcome your family.

Eden is based at Hall House, in Cathedral Close, a building with a long history of caring for and educating Exeter's children. The site was, until recently, home to Exeter Cathedral School, a much-loved part of the city for centuries. Our aim is simple: to bring it back into use for the next generation of Exeter children, with the same care and sense of community that came before.

Eden will be the sixth setting from Devon Nurseries, a family-run group with twenty years of childcare experience and over a hundred staff across Exeter and Exmouth. While Eden is new, the values behind it are not: the same warmth, familiarity and personal touch found in our other settings will be very much part of daily life here too.

Our nursery is awaiting Ofsted registration. Please get in touch to join our waiting list, and we’ll let you know as soon as we’re able to offer places.
